Stella came out of the bathroom this morning and said,
"Momma I need those wings Nana told me about."
"you need wings?"
"yes, to fly in the bathroom. To the ceiling. I move my arms to try but I just can't"

Sunday fallday

Today we stayed busy doing fall things. The kids didn't really think it was that cool and were crabby/sassy most of the day but I'm glad we didn't consider today a loss because of that.

Wipe your tears

The molars (3!!) are through. Our house is about to become a lot more peaceful.

Update on milestones

I just had to get on here to say, Wyatt took steps yesterday! He can stand on his own for a few seconds but he has been pretty stubborn about taking steps. I'm in no rush for him to start walking, but he just looked too cute when he did it. He woke up this morning saying "Mama, Dada, Nana, Dedda! (Stella) over and over again.  He said thank you when I gave him a banana and repeated "uh oh" when he dropped a piece on the floor. Growing so fast!

Time flies. Babies grow.

11 months.
My babbling,
so-bigging,
waving,
clapping, dancing,
peek-a-booing,
standing,
cackling
flirting, loving little guy.

You melt my heart with your warm grins,
shock me with your sharp, dramatic cries,
you speak through your eyes.
make me laugh with your eclectic dancing skills
and win me over with your sweet energy.

You are so fun to love, baby boy.

[Some words from the boy: Dada, Baba, Jack(son), Nana, Ma]

From the mouth of a Stella

Matt spent a week out of town for work so I've been alone with the kids this week (other than the few nights with my sister that saved my sanity). I was looking for Stella and found her in her room underneath the blankets on her bed. I lifted the blanket and she smiled and held out the toy "daddy" from her doll house set. "Look Momma, it's a Daddy! I see my Daddy tomorrow? My big Daddy? I miss him."

Yesterday she picked a dandelion from the yard and was sniffing it as I was putting her in her car seat. "Does it smell good?" I asked her. "Yep. Mmmm." "What does it smell like?" "It smells like my NOSE! And BOOGERS!"

we've been busy doing busy things. like moving. and unpacking. [again]. painting. organizing. paying bills. cleaning. and trying to stay dry from the rain. but we're making it out of this dark tunnel and into the sunshine.

i'll try to remember to blog. since i've totally slacked on the baby books and i want these memories to be documented.

but with wyatt on the move (and fast!) it's a full time job- wrangling.

my girl is 2 and a half and wy is 9 months already!

wy can say/do "so big" "daddaa" "bababa"  and we are working on clapping. he can pull himself up, crawl, sit- up. he's very social, cuddly, and laid back.

stella is such a sweet girl. she dotes on her brother. she reads me books. she loves playing outside. and we're still working on potty training.

From the mouth of a Stella

Stella's playing on the bed and I hear a thud.

Me:"are you okay?"
Stella: "yeah I otay."
Me: " are you sure?"
Stella: "yeah, I positute."

I'm getting ready and I ask Stella to give Wyatt a toy.

"nope."
"what did you say."

I hear footsteps going towards the stairs.

"where are you going?"
"I go on time out"

My teething boy.

Wyatt is working on his second tooth (in the same week). I caught some happy moments (which have been few and far between for the past couple of days). He is also not sleeping. But I still love him.

Of runny noses and sleepless nights.

I woke up this morning feeling like my head was on the verge of exploding, looked next to me at my wide awake 5 month old and wondered how he got into my bed. Oh yeah, after the 8th time of him waking up in the night, and me tripping over the dog for the 5th time, and trying to fall back to sleep with Matt's snoring, I gave up.

Wyatt and I are sharing a head cold. It's convenient. We both sleep like crap and the cycle is never ending. Matt doesn't wake up in the night (ever, he claims he just 'doesn't hear him'). I'm on the verge of hiring a night nanny.

On a happier note, my girl isn't sick (knock on wood) and she's been in a good mood today.

Probably because I've been giving her an endless supply of Toy Story fruit snacks, but you do what you gotta do, right?

5 months later.

Dear Wyatt,

On Christmas day you turned five months old. You are finally starting to show off your true colors. You are funny! You are my "aw-shucks" little boy. You've always loved your Momma, but you are becoming very enthralled with your Daddy. You need "guy time" now. Daddy takes you to go check on the beer and watch "guy shows" and talk "guy talk". You get so excited when he gets home.

It doesn't bother you that you are the second child in this house. You make sure everyone says hello to you, and not just Stella. You lean forward towards the person and stare at them intently. You adore your sister and constantly watch what she is doing and where she is going... and she usually stops and gets right in your face to give you big smiles and kisses.

You can sit up, but you're still a little wobbly. You've slept one 7 hour stretch which was the longest stretch of your life! Momma's excited about that one. Today, your first tooth cut through and you're not very happy about it. You eat oatmeal before bed, but otherwise rely on Momma for milk. We finally got you to take a bottle again, but you're not excited about it.

Wyatt, we love you so much! We love to see the little person you are becoming and it is the perfect addition to our crazy little family.

Happy 5 months sweet boy!
